Wood Story

Unlike traditional solid wood furniture in European or Chinese styles, contemporary minimalist furniture—whether from international or domestic brands—utilizes both veneer and solid wood materials in crafting wooden components. Neither material is inherently superior; effectiveness depends entirely on appropriate application to specific structural elements. Veneer-faced MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and solid wood each serve distinct functional purposes within a single piece. In fact, composite craftsmanship combining veneer and MDF often incurs higher costs than solid wood alone, requiring more complex processing techniques.

Moisture Content of Wood (MC)

Due to its natural properties, wood may undergo physical deformation such as swelling and shrinkage during transportation and storage when exposed to significant temperature and humidity fluctuations. To mitigate this, Tikahome implements stringent moisture content control standards. By utilizing drying kilns and conditioning chambers, we ensure that wood moisture content is consistently maintained between 9% and 11% before entering the manufacturing process.
